Build the Wall

A Mason gathers all the pieces he needs to make the structure he envisions. Prepares the mortar and the bricks, places them near him for easier reach. Thinking to himself, he reviews all he has and makes sure he has everything he needs to build.

As he begins, he starts spreading the mortar and places bricks next to one another. Side by side down the row, neatly and precise. He has a place for each and every one, making sure its exactly where it needs to be. Not off center or messed up in anyway.

As followers of Christ we must be the same way. We ourselves must build a wall. That wall is made of prayer. Prayer for one other. Our friends, family, missionaries, co-workers... everyone around us.

One brick at a time.

Prayer for salvation, the first brick. Prayer for safety, the second brick. Prayer for healing, the third brick... on and on. We need to be precise and be specific in what we pray for those we are building this wall around. Lay those bricks of prayer high and surround those people dear to you. Build that wall so high and so secure that the Satan himself can't get through.

But the more you pray, the stronger that wall becomes around that dear person. The harder the Devil will fight to get in, the more determined he's gonna get to crack one of those bricks. We MUST keep those bricks intact and strong. Don't falter and slow down on praying for others. That's when Satan will put more pressure, crack it and sneak in... Keep praying!

"Pray without ceasing." 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV

The Mason can't build a wall without a foundation. It will fall and be a worthless pile of rubble. Like the Mason, we have a foundation...THE Foundation. Jesus Christ, God our Father. He alone is our foundation and without that our prayers would be a like that of rubble.

Place your faith on your Foundation. Those walls won't falter and crumble when God Himself is holding them. But it's our job to lay our prayers (bricks) on Him.

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." 1 Peter 5:7 KJV

Be that spiritual Mason so to speak. Build up walls around others on your Foundation, Jesus Christ.

I heard a young girl the other day say this...

"You are not dangerous when you spend three hours on social media. You're dangerous when you spend three hours in God's word. Three hours prayer. The Devil wants you to 'observe' God. He wants you to know 'about' God. But he doesn't want you to know God personally. When is your time to pray with Him? When is your time to get in His Living Word? Demons know about God... The Devil knows about God... Do you know God? Are are you spending time with Him? Because that is what they want to keep you from."

The Devil knows what would happen if we spent our time with God and in prayer. It would be very dangerous for him and his angels...

How's your prayer time? Build the wall.
